We never want to be in a position to abandon a community because a project does not get fully funded. That's why all KindSight projects are pre-funded by Lutheran World Relief using the organization's existing resources.
We distribute that funding in a careful and sustainable way throughout the life of the project. As donations to particular aspects of a KindSight project are received, they reimburse LWR and help them prepare for the next project.
LWR selects local partners—often either small community-based organizations, or international non-governmental organizations—who have the knowledge and expertise of their communities. LWR focuses on underserved rural communities, with a particular emphasis on improving livelihoods for small-scale farmers and on ensuring sustainability by strengthening our partners' capacities.
Local partners implement the KindSight project from beginning to end, with financial, technical and monitoring support from LWR. During the project, LWR collects stories, photos video and other details to share through KindSight. All donations to KindSight reimburse LWR so they can continue funding life-saving projects for people around the world. The various tools, training, supplies and construction that are listed in a KindSight project are accurately priced to reflect the cost of:
Each KindSight project you support changes the lives of individuals who live in poverty. How do we know that? Each new project is built upon the success of previous projects. We continuously monitor and learn from the methods of training, and the supplies provided to lift people out of poverty.
Your KindSight contributions support the work of Lutheran World Relief (LWR), which works to improve the lives of people experiencing poverty overseas. Your KindSight donations help families grow food, earn income and overcome the barriers to self-sufficiency.
Your KindSight contributions are directed to agricultural efforts because small-holder farmers produce four-fifths of the food in developing countries, yet many are living in poverty.
LWR works with local partners in rural communities to determine what needs to be done to overcome poverty. Together, we carry out long-lasting, sustainable projects to overcome those challenges.
Your contributions are investments in the future of those rural communities. LWR works to achieve lasting results, so that the people we work with continue to benefit from our work long after a project is finished.Create a profile today!
